Introduction of National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation Scholarships

The motive behind the setting up of National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation Scholarships scheme is to assist financially weak students who also happen to be handicapped to enable them carry out professional/technical courses from reputed institutes and shape a better future for themselves.

Differently abled students experience various barriers such as physical, psychological,financial etc while studying and living a honorable life. Due to these barriers students are not able to utilize their hidden talents and lose the golden opportunity of living a dignified life with peace and prosperity. The National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation Scholarships scheme is out there to help handicapped and differently abled person by assisting him financially to carry out the study of his choice in the institute of his choice with money being the least barrier for him her.

Number of Scholarships

Each year around 2500 scholarships are distributed in the country 30% of which is especially reserved foe girls.

Students can avail following benefits from National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation Scholarships Scheme

Eligibility Criteria

i) Financial assistance will be paid to student to carry out his graduate or post graduate studies. The stationary or book allowance will also be provided to him, it will be credited directly into his account. The fees of the course will be paid to the institute directly.

ii) Student can get this scheme for one course at a time.

iii) Students who got admission on the basis of competition are eligible without consideration of  percentage or merit.

iv) If students have not qualified any competition exam they are also eligible if they have secured a minimum of 50% in their last qualifying exam. For females 45% is the minimum limit.

v) Correspondence course students are also eligible for this scholarship.

vi) Student cannot avail any other scholarship while receiving benefits from National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation Scholarships Scheme.

vii) The annual income of the ward’s parent or guardian must not exceed INR 3,00,000 per year from all sources.

Documents Required

ii) Income certificatei) Attested copies of all academic mark sheets of qualifying exams.

iii) An attested copy of disabilty certificate.

iv) Proof of payment of course fee.

Make sure you have scanned copy of following documents that have to be uploaded in online application form for National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation Scholarships

i) Disability certificate in PDF/doc format, less than 100 kb in size.

ii) Copy of Fee receipt in PDF/doc format, less than 100 kb in size.

iii) Photo of candidate in size less than 50 kb in size.
